Copyright and Takedown Policy
Effective 18 September 2026 · Version 1.0 · Operated by Brewcode LLC
1. What FirstAsk stores
FirstAsk indexes requests that people publish on public platforms and official procurement portals. For each Lead we store the public text of the post, a link to the original, the poster's public display name or handle, and a short summary and structured fields that we generate. We do not host user uploads, images or files from those posts, and subscribers cannot upload content for others to see. Tender documents are read to qualify a Lead and are not republished.
2. Copyright notices
If you believe material available through FirstAsk infringes a copyright you own or control, send a notice to our copyright agent by email at [email protected] with the subject line "Copyright notice", or by post to Brewcode LLC, Attn: Copyright Agent, 1130 Ogletown Road, PMB # 1857, Suite 2, Newark, Delaware 19711, USA. So that we can act on it, the notice must include:
- identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed;
- the URL within FirstAsk of the material you claim is infringing, or enough information for us to locate it;
- your name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner of the right claimed to be infringed or authorised to act on the owner's behalf; and
- your physical or electronic signature.
This is the information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3). We act on complete notices within a few business days: we remove or disable access to the material, and we notify the account whose content was removed where one exists.
3. Counter-notices and repeat infringers
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address containing: identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and telephone number; consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found); and your signature. Unless the original complainant informs us within ten business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material.
We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of subscribers who are repeat infringers.
4. Removing your own public post
If you wrote a public post that appears in FirstAsk as a Lead and you would like it removed, email [email protected] or [email protected] with the link to the original post. We remove it within a few business days and add the account to a suppression list so it is not collected again. Posts that are deleted or made private at the source are removed automatically on our next check.
5. Misuse of this process
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages. Please make sure a notice is accurate before you send it.
