Cookie Policy

Effective 6 September 2026 · Version 1.0 · Operated by Brewcode LLC

Scope

This Cookie Policy explains how Brewcode LLC ("Brewcode", "FirstAsk", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on the FirstAsk marketing website (firstask.ai), web application (app.firstask.ai) and related services (collectively, the "Service"). FirstAsk is a product of Brewcode LLC, a Delaware limited liability company and a subsidiary of Brewcode Technologies Private Limited (India). This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information more generally.

Operating entity: Brewcode LLC, 1130 Ogletown Road, PMB # 1857, Suite 2, Newark, Delaware 19711, USA — a subsidiary of Brewcode Technologies Private Limited, #198, CMH Road, 2nd Floor, Desk No. 269, Indiranagar, Bangalore, India – 560038. Contact: [email protected].

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site's operators. We also use similar technologies such as local storage and session storage, which we refer to collectively with cookies in this Policy.

2. Categories of cookies we use

Essential cookies. These are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are set in response to actions you take, such as signing in, setting preferences or submitting forms:

  • Authentication and session: access and refresh tokens and a session identifier (session to 30 days).
  • Security: cross-site request forgery (CSRF) protection tokens (session).
  • Preferences: theme, interface settings and your cookie-consent choice (up to 1 year).

Without these cookies, core parts of the Service — including signing in and staying signed in — will not work.

Analytics and performance cookies. These help us understand how visitors use the Service — for example which pages are visited and how features are used — so we can measure and improve it. We use Google Analytics (cookies _ga and _ga_*, kept for up to 2 years) and Microsoft Clarity (cookies _clck and _clsk, kept for up to 1 year; Clarity records how pages are used, such as scrolling and clicks, with form fields and text you type masked) on the marketing site, and PostHog in the portal (product analytics only; PostHog session recording is switched off and text is masked). On the marketing site Clarity is loaded only after you choose Accept in the cookie bar, and Google Analytics runs without cookies until you do; you can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. In the portal, analytics is a choice in account settings. The information is pseudonymous and aggregated, and IP addresses are truncated.

Functional cookies. These enable enhanced functionality and personalisation, such as remembering your last-used filters and recent activity. If you do not allow these, some features may not work as smoothly.

Advertising cookies. With your consent we load the Meta Pixel (cookie _fbp, kept for up to 90 days) and Google Ads conversion measurement on the marketing site so we can measure whether our advertising brings visitors who sign up, and show FirstAsk ads to people who have visited this site. Neither loads until you choose Accept in the cookie bar; you can change your choice with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, block them with your browser settings, or opt out of Meta ad personalisation in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences. We use no other advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

3. First-party and third-party cookies

Most cookies are set by FirstAsk directly (first-party). A small number may be set by trusted third-party providers that support the Service:

  • Payment processor (Stripe) for secure checkout and fraud prevention on the billing pages;
  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers for security, load balancing and performance;
  • Analytics providers (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity on the marketing site, PostHog in the portal);
  • Advertising measurement (Meta Platforms, via the Meta Pixel on the marketing site);
  • Error reporting (Sentry), which records technical context about failures and does not track you across sites.

These providers process data under their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to review.

4. Similar technologies

  • Local storage: stores preferences and unsaved drafts (such as interface settings and notes in progress) on your device; persists until cleared.
  • Session storage: stores temporary data for the current session and clears when you close your browser tab.
  • Email delivery tracking: emails we send may contain a tracking pixel and tracked links so we can detect delivery, opens, clicks, bounces and complaints. This is used to keep deliverability healthy and to stop sending to addresses that do not want mail.

5. How to control cookies

  • Browser add-ons: the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and tracker-blocking extensions, stop these cookies on every site.
  • Browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies via their privacy settings. Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge each provide controls under Privacy or Security.
  • Provider opt-outs: Meta ad personalisation can be turned off in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences; Microsoft Clarity honours tracker-blocking extensions; analytics in the portal can be disabled in account settings.

Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in and using key features of the Service.

6. Regional rights

  • EU and UK (GDPR, PECR): the Service is offered to businesses in the United States and Canada; if we begin marketing to the UK or EEA, non-essential cookies there will be set only with consent.
  • United States (including California): you may exercise applicable rights regarding personal information collected through cookies. We do not "sell" or "share" such information.
  • India (DPDP Act): we apply reasonable security practices consistent with applicable Indian law.

For more information about your rights, see our Privacy Policy or contact us using the details below.

7. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law or our practices. Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
